How much difference would haveing a 3000+ dpi have over a 1000 dpi mouse? Mine is a 1000, and I'm wondering if it would be worth buying a nice mouse.

The higher the resolution, the more precision the mouse will have (so, the cursor/mouse look will move more for the same amount of hand movement).
It also gives you more flexibility when setting up the mouse for different games, since they don't share the same in-game speeds.
